Adult Live Courses
Join us live, every week, to learn from one of our expert Waldorf instructors about Waldorf topics, parenting, homeschooling, and anthroposophical book studies.
Structure of the Courses
- These classes are mostly five weeks long, meeting every Monday at 6:30pm MT (8:30pm ET, 7:30pm CT, 5:30pm PT).
- If the course is a book study, it will meet for ten weeks.
- Each class is 75 minutes long, and meets via Zoom.
- There will be a healthy mix of presentation (by the instructor), small group discussions (via Zoom breakout rooms), and then we will gather back in the full group to share further insights.
- In case you can’t make a session, it will be recorded, and the recording will be available (only) to the participants for two weeks, and then deleted.
- Some courses may include a small amount of reading homework.
The Path to Independence
In this 5-week course, Academy founder, Jamie York, and co-founder and counselor, Karen van Vuuren will lead thought-provoking conversations around what our children need on this road to become independent, fully human individuals. We will consider the challenges to their healthy development, as well as practical ideas to overcome the obstacles that stand in their way.

Rudolf Steiner’s Philosophy of Freedom
Through our working together on this book, we hope to experience a fuller reality that includes both the physical and spiritual. We can have sense free thinking via imagination, inspiration and intuition. This sense-free thinking is a free act and affirms our individuality and our common humanity. Dr. Steiner believed that each individual is capable of this most human of all experiences.
