Course Description

During this 4 week course the structure, anatomy and physiology of the human skeleton, our senses and the muscles will be discovered. We will start with the different parts of our body like the limbs, thorax and skull to understand human posture and alignment. This will also include a comprehensive study of the hip, pelvis, and vertebral column. From there, the bones will be explored with different activities and detailed drawings. The students explore the types of joints that we have in our body and their structures. Some discussion on footwear, sleep and general posture and how this can influence our vertebral column, will be covered. Our skeleton will be compared to skeletons from other organisms and how these are related to each other.

We will continue with our 12 senses, and by doing many different experiments, they will be actively be used and explained. From the main 9 senses, detailed drawings will be made and described how they work. The sense of movement will be used to learn about the function of the different types of muscles that are present in our body and how they work. We will go over the details of muscles, their qualities and their limits and the way they work. This will be done by detailed drawings and clear descriptions.
